CrisBag is a comprehensive baggage handling system designed for use in airports, combining baggage sortation, early baggage storage and transportation in one system.

CrisBag is a tote transport system, where baggage is loaded into totes and transported from a loading station possibly via a screening system and with an optional stay in an Early-Baggage-Storage (EBS) and sorted before discharged at the intended destination.

The basic principle of the CrisBag system is to load each bag into a dedicated transport tote as soon as it enters the system, either at check-in or when an operator unloads transfer baggage. Keeping the baggage in the tote until it is discharged from the system ensures gentle handling and accurate tracking throughout the system.

At check-in, the bag’s IATA bar code data is merged with the tote’s RFID information to create a complete end-to-end track-and-trace system. Due to a special design, the tote allows effi cient screening and gentle transportation of all baggage types, shapes and sizes. The CrisBag™ system include transport of Out-of-gage baggage (OOG) by use of special designed over-size baggage totes (OBT).

Baggage items that arrive before the make-up device for a specific flight is ready are sent to the Early Baggage Storage (EBS). Here they remain under the supervision of the computer monitoring system until automatically retrieved as required.
